My photographic subject matter tends to lean a little in the rural direction. That makes total sense, living and working in southwest Iowa. It doesn’t get much more rural than that.
My photographs are of things I see. Everyday objects and events are my preferred focus. Things like old gnarled fence posts in the early morning sunlight or summertime storms breaking for a split-second glimpse of a spectacular sunset. My goal is to capture these ordinary subjects in a unique way.
I am a Graphic Designer by day with over 15 years of professional experience. I enjoy it very much, along with drawing and painting. And while I do occasionally miss working in the darkroom developing film and making enlargements, I am really enjoying the digital age. Photoshop is a truly amazing darkroom.
